Out Like a Lion

March: In like a Lamb, out like a Lion, right??
Well, I have to be honest, I really can't remember how March started out, but there is no question its going out like a Lion!

I missed getting a picture of the huge, wet snowflakes falling all morning. The snow is heavy and wet...just when all the yards were bare and the streets were clean and dry!

The Lion says it best:

Roaaaaarrrr!

I tried to get Logan to pose with his little Lion toys today (in one of my efforts to keep us busy during the snowy day!), but Logan was not interested in sitting still.

It was one side to the other, reaching for books and toys. Busy little boy.

We hope the end of March greets all our friends and family in the rest of the country
in a more pleasant nature than this!

Meticulous Much?

Anyone who knows John is taken aback by his passion. He really puts his heart and soul into everything he does.
Including caring for our cars.

Tonight I caught John outside, working on the car under the halogen lights, steam coming off the bucket of hot water, street lights glowing in the back ground...
Ahh...a man and his car! What a joy!
I don't know enough about my camera to really do this scene justice (Ben Dodds...I need your expertise!)

Seriously, though, John is so good at taking care of cars (and other stuff, too!). Its great and I love it. And I know how much John loves his time in the garage, working on projects and making sure things are "just so". Its a great way to spend a cool night under the lights.

Plus, we've done way crazier home improvement projects under those halogen lights (remodeled a bathroom, removed a window and replaced siding, built a deck, remodeled a basement, packed a moving truck...the list goes on!).

And, the truth is, I will definately appreciate the hard work and cold temperatures
John endured tonight when I get in the car tomorrow and its smelling fresh and
looking so clean I could eat my lunch off the seats. Thanks, babe. You are the best. Really.

Logan's First Love

This week Logan had his first babysitter! Like a real, non-family, non-grandparent babysitter! Big step for us here at the Eiselt house! We had a short schedule gap and Jana, a Young Life friend who now goes to Bethel was in town for spring break, was gracious enough to watch Logan for 1.5 hours...brave soul!

Logan was pretty much in love with Jana. Nothin' but flirty smiles.

Well, I guess we should leave Logan more often...

Thanks, Jana!!

Wild Man

Logan and I had a nice day today and when John came home a little before dinner,
we got to all take a walk together. It was 45 degrees today, and the snow was melting like crazy. I couldn't help but think that next year, Logan will love to splash in all the puddles!
After the walk, we warmed up with some quality time together.

Logan is starting to look more like John. I see expressions of John's coming through all the time!

This is Logan's new perma-smile.
He smiles so big his nose crinkles like crazy and he even gives a little "huff/puff" through his nose.
A couple times, when he was really excited, he actually snorted like a piggy! So funny!

Daddy's Boy

Again, the perma-smile. Logan's favorite new past time is cruising around on the wood floors!
He will try to get his knees under himself, but the floors are slippery, so he ends up looking like Bambi.
He's still moving backward - he sure has the hang of it!

Playing with Daddy. Logan loves to grab our faces and mimmick our smiles, noises, and laughs.

Yippee!

7 months!

Oh my goodness! I am seven months old!

Some of my favorite things to do and my newest accomplishments are:
  • sliding around on the floor (I'll be crawling very soon!)
  • putting myself on my hands and knees
  • pulling myself up to a sitting position (especially in my crib!)
  • using my fingertips to feel different textures
  • eating new foods and drinking from my sippy cup
  • playing peek-a-boo
  • reading books (especially my Sesame Street/Elmo books!)
  • riding in the shopping cart like a big boy at Target
  • singing, talking, laughing - new sounds everyday!
  • reaching for anything I can see...backwards, forwards, sideways, you name it! If I can see it, I WANT it!
  • mimicking noises and movements

Lookin' just like Daddy!
I had to add this picture because I think Logan looks just like John! That expression!

Its amazing how quickly 7 months can pass...with each day more exciting than the last!

Rejoice!

Happy Easter!!
For the Lord is risen! What a miracle and gift to us all!

We are so blessed to be able to spend time with our families for the holidays!
We traveled to Stillwater for Easter, spending time with both sets of Grandparents,
enjoying their company and relaxing.

First stop was Grandma and Grandpa Eiselt's house. We spent most of Saturday relaxing with them and enjoying yummy treats.
We didn't get to see Scott or Jenny, but look forward to spending time with both of them at the end of April!

Grandpa helped Logan dig through his basket from the Easter Bunny!

Logan sure does love his Elmo books, but he was not so sure about the real thing.

After celebrating at church on Sunday, we went to Papa and Nana's house.
Hippity-Hop!
The Easter Bunny was very busy because Logan had presents in his basket here, too!

Daddy helped look through the loot.

Ohhhh...toys and new shoes!

But the coolest part was the paper filling!

"Look what I did!"

Fun with Auntie Ali and Uncle Kyle!

Auntie Amy makes me laugh!!

For the past couple visits, Logan seems to have a little trouble deciphering between Auntie Amy and Mommy.
He really thinks Amy is Mommy until he realizes she can't give him what he wants (i.e. FOOD, please!), then he just gets really M-A-D!
Its been pretty cute/funny/sad. Oh boy Amy, we have years and years of confusion to come!!
Our poor kids will probably all be traumatized some day because of our uncanny look-a-like selves.

The Easter season seems to have come and go so quickly. With winter still in full swing here in the chilly Midwest, it was hard to get into the mood for such a springy holiday.
Then again, the real reason for the celebration is God's love and devotion to us, His imperfect children.
What grace, mercy and sacrifice we are shown. What an amazing gift.
Sing praises and rejoice!

Baby To-Go

Logan is big enough now that we broke out the portable high chair to keep in the car.
The last few weeks, when we've been out, we wished we had this along for Logan to sit in.

As you can see, he thinks its a good idea, too!

The crazy mess you see in the background is usually how the house looks from about 5am-7pm. It pretty much the chaos that we have grown to love and accept! When Logan sleeps the house is in nice order, but while he's up, we give his toys, etc free reign!

Bundle Baby

All bundled up for my first spring walk in the baby jogger!
Can't wait for nicer weather so we can be out everyday!

Date Night

Since its spring break for both UWEC and the high schools in Eau Claire, John has more evenings free than ever! Its so nice to have him around more this week! I can already tell Logan is getting used to it! I'm actually helping out at work, filling in some gaps for other staff that are away, so Logan and John will get some quality time together at the end of the week.

We took advantage of John's Monday evening without YL Club and went out to dinner and a movie! Nana came over from Stillwater on Monday afternoon and stayed overnight so we could get out and enjoy a little adult time. Except a wedding, and a couple quick dinners, we really haven't been out much since Logan was born...we usually just go when and where he can come along.

It was great to catch up and feel like a "couple" instead of just "parents". Our famlies have been so great about helping with Logan when we need it. THANKS to Holbrooks and Eiselts for that!

Mommy's Helper

What would I do without my big helper, Mr. Logan?!
Truthfully, I'd get a lot more done, but not have nearly as much fun everyday
as I do with my little buddy!

Logan thinks its pretty funny when he sits in the laundry basket...nice and cozy!

Love that expression!

Gone Fishing

Logan seems to like his bath toys more than any other toy!
This week, he found his fishing toy in the tub and has been interested in it ever since!

Yummy?

Actually, Logan, the worm is for the fishy!

So fun!

Track Star

The new "magic place" for Logan is in the rocker in our living room, where we spend most of our time. John started putting him in this chair and calling it his "Big Boy Chair". Logan grins ear-to-ear when we let him sit there all alone. It seems to have the same effect that sitting on top of the fridge had for the first 4 months of his life!

"No hands!"

Too cool for Mom

Logan was so cute in his little Puma track suit from Ali! Love it!
