Children's Farm - Bennett 2014

Bennett had one more year of the parent-child class at Children's Farm this year.  We traveled to MN for his class on Friday mornings for about 6 weeks.  Since John has Fridays off, he usually went with to class but this was my week since John was away!

We love the Children's Farm!

We were the first ones there - and that's how Bennett likes it!

Bennett chose to feed the goats first.

And he fed the chickens, among some others.  I couldn't believe how Bennett was willing to get so close to the animals and even into the chicken pen - those chickens are crazy!

Then once everyone has arrived, Farmer Nancy gives instructions for the day:

Bennett was so excited to ride the horse, that was first on his list.

Then a nice stroke for a great ride.

Our next activity was holding the kittens.  They have gotten pretty big since they were born in April or May, but they are still so little and cute.  Bennett would have sat all day with those kittens.  I love his little smile...

And the hayloft was open!  That is always fun to climb and run around.

There were plenty of puddles on the farm today!

We got a drink of water and the headed to check on Bennett's garden!
Corn, beans, peas, carrots, and more!

Then we moved on to one of the day's tasks: shucking and grinding corn.  Bennett was a great worker!

And the snack was popcorn!  Perfectly appropriate!  Bennett loves popcorn…he didn't share with me.  :)

After snack we all climbed the fence into the pasture to play on the wagons and see the sheep.

The Children's Farm has been so awesome!  Bennett grows in confidence and enjoys his time with the animals.  Way to go,  Farmer Bennett!!

Usually, when John takes Bennett they leave early Friday morning and this is the view I get:

All set for a great day at the farm!!
