Beach Party!

This week was the grand opening for students in their new wing at church!  After a whole summer and fall under construction, the wing opened in November.  Over 900 volunteers from all over the country came to build this new wing of our church - the same way the rest of the church was built 5 years ago.  Its pretty amazing!
The theme for the high school grand opening was "beach party"!  They even turned up the heat so kids could wear shorts and swim trunks.

Of course, for a special night like that, the boys had to visit youth group!

I didn't dig out our summer gear, but the boys did bring their shades along.

Our favorite feature of the night was our friends', Mollie and Aubrey's Summer Snow shaved ice!  Their snowcone stand is closed October-May, but they brought it out special for the beach party!

Blue Raspberry is the boys' favorite...they wear it on their lips for a day after.  :)

We stayed for games and songs in the cool new auditorium...

some things never change (like John in a crazy outfit with fake teeth in his mouth).  We are lucky to have our church, John's great job, and this wonderful new facility!
