What a Weekend!

Well, this is my new all time favorite weekend ever! We had so much fun, at home, all together, playing and laughing all the time! We really spent a lot of time enjoying being at home, after a busy summer of being away on so many adventures. We did yard work, house work, some final babyproofing, rearranging furniture, small project, scrapbooking and mostly PLAYING, WALKING, and having FUN together! We took naps, went to the playground, read for hours and hours, went for walks, made delicious meals...I could go on and on. It was a great end to summer as we gear up for a busy Young Life season at this house! Here are a few pictures from this wonderful weekend...

Books and more books! Our little make-shift bookshelf is too full! We need to find a new spot for all Logan's great books!

Logan tried to feed himself. Using his fingers, a spoon, the bowl...whatever he could to get the yogurt in his mouth. Logan's new favorite food is homemade Mac & Cheese with chopped broccoli. He's fully self-sufficient now - no more nursing!

Its all about mimicking! Logan loves to copy what we do. He's Daddy and Logan pretending to take a nap! Logan is so funny and sometimes lays his head on the ground like this or even lays flat down on the ground to rest.

Logan also learned to put his own diaper away. He discovered the Diaper Genie a while ago, but just this weekend decided that he could put his own diaper in there. He also learned to put the mail in the mailbox, wash his hands, open and close his eyes, and touch his nose!

After we change Logan's diaper, he rubs his hands together, like he's washing them because he always sees us do the same!

Playing, playing, playing. Logan loves to stack, load, empty, etc, etc.
We rearranged our lower level so its more Logan-friendly. His new big boy toys are mostly downstairs while some of the smaller toys and books are upstairs.

Logan played with his wagon. He is more interested in playing with it, putting his cup in and out of the cup holders, folding down the chairs, pulling/pushing it in the grass, than riding in it at this point.

We went to the neighborhood school playground that is just around the block from our house. It was so hot this weekend that we could only be out for a little bit and we had to go before the playground equipment got too hot from the sun. We've been enjoying the playground quite a bit this week before school starts again!

Logan likes to go down the slide with Mom and Dad. He also likes to try to climb up the slide!

The climbing wall is our favorite! Logan loves to grab the rocks, climb around the wall and peek into the holes! We play hide and seek around the edges!

Logan was so desperate to climb this ladder. He stepped over the first two rungs that are close the the ground all by himself. He really had it down: first reaching with his arms, then stepping up high with his legs. Then the rungs got too high and he was so upset that he couldn't keep going! He's so adventurous and courageous right now! Its such a fun time for all of us!

We're trying to keep you all updated with Logan's development (should the name of this blog really be "The Shrine"?!), but everything changes so quickly these days...we have a hard time keeping up to date ourselves!
