Recovered

Well, after a few days of worrying about losing all my photos from last weekend (the best weekend ever!), I can say that about 30 photos were recovered...thanks to my very good friend Holly!  She was able to use some of her software to recover some files, although we found out my memory card was ka-put.  So, I got a new SD card yesterday and now the camera works like a dream!  Here are the photos that were in the best condition.  I probably should edit them and crop them a little but I don't have time today so I'll just post them as-is for now!

As I mentioned before, this was my favorite weekend!  John came home a little early on Friday and then didn't have any YL or track for the rest of the weekend.  Sometimes I don't even realize how unconventional our everyday schedule is until we have a real weekend.  We stayed home instead of traveling to see family so that we could take advantage of the quiet weekend all together.

A couple weeks ago, John heard about an egg hunt that was taking place at Carson Park.  We didn't know what to expect, but since we missed the neighborhood egg hunt this year, we thought it would be fun for Logan.  So we got up on Saturday and got ready to go!

The boys playing together before the egg hunt!

It was crazy!  Apparently, the boy/girl scouts hosted this egg hunt and had about 5000 eggs!  Well, we are pretty sure there were just as many people at Carson Park for the event.  It was pretty fun for Logan but not very organized and definitely chaotic.  Logan was in the 3-5 years section instead of the two year olds' section because it looked too boring for him.

John and Logan went on the hunt when it started.  I stayed behind with Bennett in the stroller until the masses cleared.

John's strategy was to get out of the main area so Logan could pick some eggs without being trampled.  It worked!  Logan got about 8 eggs and then when we saw a couple kids who didn't get any, we had Logan give away a couple of his.

Look at those eggs!

(Here's a good example of my crazy camera.)

There were several other things going on after the egg hunt: paper airplanes, jumping castles, snacks, and crafts.  Logan waited in line for a jumping castle, but when it was his turn, he didn't want to go in.  That was ok with us because there were some pretty big kids in there.

It was a pretty chilly morning and a little windy so Bennett stayed snuggled in the stroller and loved checking out all the action around him!  Next year we will have two little boys running around for eggs! Fun!

From the egg hunt, we went home to pack a lunch and headed straight for Govin's Family Farm.  They have their lambing barn open for visitors for just a couple weekends.  We wanted to give Logan a chance to see the baby animals!  He was so excited.  Unfortunately, most of my photos did not turn out.  There are a couple slivers, though...

John and Logan looking at the sheep.  There were almost 100 baby lambs.

Logan holding a little piglet!  We couldn't believe it, but he really wanted to hold the piglet.  He said it was prickly and wiggly.  I wish the photos would have turned out...you can just see the wonder in his eyes and its so cute!

We also saw goats, sheep, llamas, cows, mules, chickens, dogs and all their babies.  Logan called the llamas, "Llama, Llama", just like from his books!  He really loved all the baby animals and has been asking to go see them again.  Luckily, we caught the farm on the last weekend for the season, so now we will have to wait for next year.  Farms are not really my forte, but it was worth it to see Logan's excitement!

Climbing on the hay bales.

There were several Pyrenees Sheep Dogs and puppies.  Some cleaner looking than others!  Logan just loved them because they were so soft!

There was a horse drawn wagon so we waited for it to come around and take a ride.  The only family photo I got was of us in the wagon, but its no where to be found.  :(  The wagon ride was chilly but super fun!

The boys were really tired when we got home, but Logan only took a short nap.  So we decided to stay inside out of the wind and dye our Easter Eggs.  I think this is the first time I've dyed Easter Eggs since we've been married (7 years!).  Last year, I bought a kit, but we never got around to it, so I pulled it out this year and it was a hit!  Logan loved watching the color tablets dissolve in the vinegar and stirring the dye.  He did a great job...with Dad's help!

All the colors of the rainbow...

Logan's Easter Eggs turned out to bright and colorful!  They were great!  The only bummer is that I got distracted and forgot to put them in the fridge, so they probably spoiled.  We didn't try...  Oh well, they were fun to make and lovely to look at!

Easter morning everyone was up early and after a snuggle in our bed downstairs, we headed up to see what the Easter Bunny brought for the kids!  Lots of eggs were hidden around the living room and kitchen and each of the boys had a fun Easter Basket at their place.

What fun!  Bubbles and bunnies for the boys.

Bennett got some cool shades and he liked wearing them!

After a quick breakfast and some time playing with our Easter gifts, we got ready for church so we could make the early service.  The boys looked so cute and after church, we caught a couple photos before heading out to enjoy the glorious weather!

Mom & boys

All the boys!

We spent the rest of the day playing outside, having great naps, and making a yummy meal for the four of us for dinner.

Bennett checking out his goods while I prepped for dinner.

The bubble wand was definitely keeping Bennett busy.

When Logan had his gigantic nap, we hid more eggs outside around the house.  He had fun running around to find them.  Of course he had to shake every single one to see if there was something in it!  We let him eat a lot of the candy (we didn't even put much in the eggs) and he was so hopped up on sugar that he couldn't fall asleep until about 10:30 pm!  Poor boy!  But, I think he would say it was worth it for all those M & Ms!

Me and the boys flying a kite - perfect day!
