The Packing Process

Our house sold in August, but we just got a "SOLD" sign this week - about a month later!  The boys were excited to see the change in the signage.  Logan says often, "Why are we sale-ing this house?"  We explain that we will live in a new house and take all our things with us.  Someone else will live in this house after we leave.  He has mixed reactions about leaving the house, but seems to understand.  He tell people all the time, "Did you know we are sale-ing our house?"

The house is slowly getting packed up.  The process seems endless.  Having moved into this house with no kids makes moving out a whole new ballgame!  The kids like to help pack (i.e. they like to throw things in boxes).  John packed up the whole garage and I've packed most of the house.  We've also had great help from friends who have been willing to come over and help us!

Even with most of the toys packed up (the boys got to choose a few to keep accessible through the move), the boys have been busy playing.  All the extra space from the items that have been moved out into the garage makes for great running space!

Living amongst the boxes has gotten a little difficult but now we're counting down!

We've had such a great weather, so while I've neglected to pack many days, its because we'd so much rather have fun outside!
The boys have taken to tackling and wrestling each other...I guess I better get used to that with these two boys!

Preschool!

Since my camera has been in semi-hibernation this month, I snapped a couple late photos of Logan at school to commemorate the first day!  He is back at Noah's Ark Preschool - a wonderful place!  He spends three mornings a week at school this year with the same teacher, Mrs. Lien.  Logan couldn't wait to go back to school on Sept 7th when class began.  I got to go along for the first day, but then he said, "Sorry mom, just for kids next time!".

The class bulletin board is already full of photos of the kids!  There are a couple familiar kids in Logan's class, but mostly new friends to make this year which is exciting!

Obviously Logan loves this place...who wouldn't?

Usually Logan and Bennett both sport their cute new backpacks to school...Bennett opted for a fit on the floor instead of a photo with Logan today.  :(

Summer Recap

We had a great summer, enjoyed spending most of our time here in Eau Claire, which felt like a "first" after 8 years on Young Life staff.  We really got to enjoy summer, our neighborhood, our own yard, and each other!  We relished all the time together, time with friends and time with family, too.

Our backyard became a haven for outside play.  With a sandbox, the sand/water table, baby pool, endless sports toys and room to run, the boys had a great time!  They especially love it when our neighbor, Sadie, comes out to play with them in the evenings when she is home from daycare.

We also loved walking to the park - just around the block!  Bennett found a love for the backpack so I ended up carting him on my back on some really HOT days!

Logan, of course, got his super short hair do (thanks to John!).  He looks so cute and grown up - like a Mini-John.  We are letting it grow out now...

I snapped this photo one afternoon while Bennett napped with me.  This doesn't happen much anymore but its just so sweet to have your child sleep on you.  He's getting so big!  I have a similar photo from when I was pregnant with Bennett and Logan slept on me...just cherishing those sweet moments!

How many boys does it take to mow the lawn?

In this house, what ONE of the boys does, they ALL have to do, naturally.

John was mowing the lawn and no one wanted to be left out so Bennett rode in the backpack and Logan participated - with bike helmet!

Of course, this only really lasts for about 10 minutes until someone is too antsy or too tired to keep "mowing".  That's ok...Mom enjoys the view of the three boys working hard together!

Phone Photos

March 2011
I found these photos on my phone and couldn't resist sharing.  The boys and I have been watching old home videos from when Bennett was a baby and Logan just was 2 years old.  Its been so fun to recall!  It made me want to look through the archives a little to see what photos are hiding on my phone.

June 2011
Bennett became so attached to toy story characters that he slept with them.  We failed to find a plush Buzz, so he slept with the hard plastic Buzz.  In fact, we have now been through several Buzz Lightyear characters - many of them breaking during the siblings' fight over whose "turn" it is to play!
