Snowman!

Today we finally woke up to some sticky snow.  The boys have been talking about building a snowman all winter and we haven't had the snow for it...until today.  It only lasted a couple hours, but John took some extra time at home this morning to make sure Frosty was built!

Logan decided he really wanted the snowman kit with the hat and carrot nose, so John found it and they re-did Frosty...
Perfect!

Snowflakes started falling before we went in, so the boys had to catch a few.

I can't complain about the weather this winter, but we did enjoy the fresh snow this morning!  Frosty was pretty melty by the afternoon, but we've patched him up a little, so maybe he'll stay for a while yet...

Pancake Supper

Tonight we went to the Pancake Supper at Noah's Ark - a benefit for the preschool.  My mom came to spend the day so that I could volunteer and help prep.  Then, we met Daddy at preschool after work to see friends and eat dinner.  The boys enjoyed a few of the fun kids' activities they have set up around the room, too.

Thanks to Nana for coming to the dinner with us!

Part of the fundraiser is an art crawl where you can donate for your child's art.  Last year, my parents donated and we got Logan's big painting which we framed and hung in John's office at the church.  This year, my mom donated and we got this awesome painting Logan did of the "ocean deep".  Perfectly fitting for our ocean-loving son.  The colors are perfect, so I will have to frame it and put it in the boys' bedroom, I think!

Love Day!

Well, I really dropped the ball for Valentine's Day this year.  My excuse is that between finishing up work at Starbucks (early mornings!), getting ready for the baby, and signing up to be in charge of treats for Logan's class party, anything special for home seemed to fall through the cracks.  Oh well, there is always next year!

Luckily, my mom had been over earlier in the week to help out and she brought over some cookies to decorate.  The boys had fun creating special cookies for each individual person.

Thanks to my mom!

Sunday when Bennett was sleeping, Logan and I made these cool Valentine's for his class.  We had lots of fun, but I didn't take a single photo.  Then we also made special pink cupcakes with heart shaped marshmallows for him to share with his class.  After last year, I knew cakepops were out.  Thank goodness for Logan's fun class party or Valentine's really would have been a bust.

To make matters worse, John stayed home Valentine's day because he had a nasty version of influenza.  So, I quarantined him to the bedroom for the day.  We usually have small group on Tuesday nights, so that would have been our little Love Day date, but of course we cancelled.  The boys and I went to the children's museum together for our special activity.

The Boy Who Could Sleep Anywhere...

Today, while we had friends over to play, Bennett crawled behind the couch in the toy room for a little privacy and FELL ASLEEP!  This is the boy who could sleep anywhere.  I'm telling you, when this boy is tired, he will fall asleep.  Some examples of places he's fallen asleep lately: the kid's seat of the Target shopping cart (TWICE!), the car (ALWAYS!), the bathmat outside the shower, and now - the cold wood floor behind the couch.  And, yes, he is still in his pjs for our playdate - some battles aren't worth fighting, ok people?

Our Boys at School

Starting in January, Wednesdays took on a new meaning: school for both our boys!  We were able to get Bennett a spot in the morning session of Camp Come & Play at Noah's Ark.  So, on Wednesdays, we pack up and I drop both boys off at school at the same time!  They both love Noah's Ark so much and Bennett was completely ready for his turn!  He doesn't hesitate for a second when he walks into class and loves his teachers.  Of course, this also means two whole hours for mom...alone!  For a few more weeks, anyway, then I'll enjoy the time with new baby girl.

One Month and counting...

Exactly one month from today, we'll be holding our baby girl in our arms.  The last few weeks have been a whirlwind: attempting to ready the house, re-doing her bedroom (pictures soon to come!), finishing some important projects, and just keeping up with life.  In the midst of all that, my camera lens went "ka-put" and the computer is a little quirky these days, which hasn't helped the blog at all.

The boys are really excited for "baby sister" and like to tell everyone that she's coming soon!  They love to look around in her room and I'm hoping they can create some cute art for her walls before she arrives.  John plans to take some time off after she is born, so we are also looking forward to that time as a family with our new little one.

Everything is becoming very real and time is moving by very quickly!  John reminded me that February is a short month, so March 6th is closer than we think!  Oh my!

Please pray for our baby in these remaining weeks, for safe delivery, and for our whole family!  Many thanks!

Best Weekend Ever!

I'm pretty sure the boys just had the best weekend ever!  Baggie and Bopbop just dropped them off from a weekend in Stillwater with them and the boys are so excited about everything they did that I don't know how life will go on...  haha!

John was away Fri-Sat speaking at Young Life camp for a college retreat weekend, so I had Friday evening, Saturday, and most of Sunday all to myself.  I will admit there was a lot of sleeping going on, but I also worked on some finishing touches for the baby's room, etc.  It was lovely!

The boys were really spoiled with a trip to Underwater World, lunch at the Rainforest Cafe, and even new hats!  Logan was seriously going 100 mph when he came home - bursting with stories of the weekend.  The boys are crazy about ocean animals, so the aquarium is a big deal.  Thanks for the special weekend, B & B!
