Eden had a great check up today, right before we leave for Mexico! She showed Dr. Gilmartin what a super little girl she is! Her stats from today:
20 lbs (44th percentile)
29.95 inches (73rd percentile)
and her head is like the 99th percentile...thank-you-very-much!
She is awesome and healthy and we were excited to tell (brag) about all her skills! Her only words: "Quack" and "Mama". Yep, me and the rubber ducky are numero 1 & 2. :)
Eden can start milk (though we are not in a rush for that) and Dr. Gilmartin told us sleep training would be ok anytime. I explained that with Eden being the caboose on our train, we've let sleep training slide and she ends up in our bed most nights. He didn't really urge us one way or the other, but said 12 months is a great time for a little cry-it-out session, or however we decided to sleep train. I'm not excited about it, but it might be on the near horizon for us.
The only concern for Eden is her top jaw and gum line. Her front two teeth on the left don't line up with her front two teeth on the right. Her two front middle teeth straddle her bottom teeth. Its a bit concerning since it seems to not just be her teeth but actually her gumline which doesn't run straight across the front. We will have to ask Dr. Agrimson about that. :) And start saving for orthodontics. :/
We are thankful everyday for Eden, Bennett, and Logan. What a life we've been given!

12 months!
Here it is! The LAST of the "month" pictures! When I started taking her photo each month with a sticker on her onesie, I thought 12 months felt like forever away (I was ok with that!). But, alas, its here!
Eden wasn't too keen on sitting and I think she figured out the sticker thing...
she kept trying to pull it off!
Well that was all she was going to give me, but with all the photos we have taken in the last week with her birthday, I decided it was plenty!

Eden's Birthday!
We woke up ready to celebrate Eden again today...this time its her REAL birthday! Wednesdays are interesting days because John is gone until about 10pm for youth group. So, we decided to take a special birthday lunch to Jacobs Well to celebrate Eden! John and Mollie & Aubrey all had lunch and cake with us. It was crazy and special and messy. :)
I have to admit, I felt like the biggest failure when I realized I wouldn't have time to even bake a cake for Eden's special day. I had to BUY cupcakes...gasp.
It was a snacky kind of lunch for Eden.
Sweetest baby blues.
And cupcakes of course! This time Eden knew just what to do...
no holding back! She takes after Bennett: the frosting is her favorite@
Eden and Mollie!
Then after lunch we went off to the museum where we met up with our friend Reese and her mom, Molly. The kids all had fun playing!
Benny wore his gloves inside until he realized he was getting hot. The boys played with us in the Toddler Park for a long time. Its really for kids 4 and under, but I usually let them come in with us if its not too full of very little kids. They do a great job playing nicely while we are there!
Eden loved the little bridge...
and that boat!
Then she figured out she could slide down the sloped part of the bridge. Smarty.
Me and my girl! I have to admit, being really busy was a good thing today. Its been a little tough for me, grieving the baby years. Of course, I have nothing but a grateful heart for my awesome three kids who are perfect to me in every way. There is just something about the last baby turning one that makes me a little teary...happy tears. :)
Construction Zone!
Bennett says, "No more pictures, Mom!"
And for good measure, another cupcake after her favorite dinner: Mac & Cheese.
And being the Mamarazzi, I couldn't let the day pass without trying to get a few pics of her sitting in the chair with her cute "1" shirt on (my mom made it of course!). She wasn't having any sitting still for pics...
"ahhhhhh!" She is always talking about something. :)
Playing tricks on mommy. Happy birthday Eden!

Eden's First Birthday Party!
We celebrated Eden's birthday a few days early with family in Stillwater. I had originally planned to throw her a party with friends here in Eau Claire, but I felt myself going out of control (ie: too many ideas, too much money, making me crazy!), so I opted to make it a small special party with grandparents instead. I'm glad I did. I know myself and I have a hard time reigning myself in when it comes to parties and planning, so its better for me to stay away from parties altogether! I knew it would be just as special to Eden to have a small gathering of those who love us most.
We got up in Eau Claire and headed for Stillwater! This is Eden's favorite spot.
She found the very same spot when we arrived at Nana's!
Party clothes!!
I can't believe how big she is! And so cute in her birthday clothes. Love that tutu and her cute little silver ballet slippers.
She thought her balloons were pretty fun and she liked playing with Papa!
I had a few ideas I was working on when I was originally planning a party at our house, so I decided to keep and finish them to use at our little revised party.
I printed some Instagram photos of Eden by month and strung them on a ribbon.
I made her this faux chalkboard out of foam core and pens. And, just like the boys, I got her the Dr. Suess book and had everyone sign it for her birthday.
My mom was nice enough to get some cute paper products and decorations from Mara-Mi in Stillwater.
They made the table so cute and festive!
I got a plain white cake and made a little pennant.
Many thanks to Papa and Nana for letting us have the party there and for making lunch!
When Bopbop arrived, he said "looks like Christmas"!
She's spoiled. :)
The boys took a break for a little "Fresh Beat Band" before lunch.
We had fun just playing around before lunch. Eden was quick and all over the place!
She was a hungry girl at lunch and especially loved her strawberries!
Can't get enough of that chair! And I just love that big smile - so perfectly Eden.
When it was time for gifts, I am sure you can imagine that she had plenty of help!
I couldn't resist getting her a baby for her gift.
She instantly hugged the baby!
Logan read all her cards out loud for everyone.
Of course Bennett was a great helper, too!
"That is adorable", said Logan of Eden's tutus!
We thought a family photo would be nice, so this is a pretty good effort!
Mommy and Eden
Time for "Happy Birthday" and a candle!
Call me "Type A", but I'm not really into the whole cake smash thing. One piece of cake and frosting is plenty to clean up. :)
Eden and Daddy
Yum!
Yep, she liked it!
The birthday girl! Its amazing what a year it has been. I think it has been the best year ever. Eden has been a beautiful light in our family - we can't even remember life without her! We will get to celebrate again on Wednesday, her real birthday. :) Thanks to grandparents for making Eden's day so special!
