Babies Are Tiring!

Clearly having a baby sister is exhausting.  Bennett chose to look at books in Eden's room while I fed her and he went right to sleep!  Bennett has been doing so well with all the change - he deserves a good rest!

Carrie and Rebecca Visit!

My very good friend, Carrie, visited today with her daughter, Rebecca!  We had the best time staying with them in Michigan last summer when John and I took a road trip.  Rebecca was just a baby then and now she seems so big!  She is the most adorable little girl - with all that great hair!  Carrie was staying in the Twin Cities this week, so they drove over specially to see us and meet Eden.  We were touched!  Thanks Carrie and Rebecca for making our day so special!

Special Visitors!

Miss Eden has had many special visitors since she was born.  We've had family, friends, our church small group, and today we had our cousins from North Dakota who are staying in the Twin Cities this week.

 It was 80-something outside today so Eden stayed in the shade all wrapped up and sleeping.

 All the big kids: Olivia and Violet (5 yrs), Logan (4) and Bennett (2) enjoyed playing outside.

 The girls are getting so big!  They were excited to hold Baby Eden!

Proud Big Brothers!

The day after Eden was born both the boys had school.  They got to share their news with their friends and teachers.  My parents took them to school that day and they said it was so fun because the boys were so excited to talk all about Eden.  Bennett likes to call her "eden" or "Baby Eden" and Logan likes to call her "Eden Olivia".

Today, one week later, John got the kids all set for school while Eden and I slept in a little bit.  Eden has been getting up about 3 times in the night to eat - not too bad, but I'm still tired!  The boys both wanted to wear their Big Brother shirts from the hospital, so I had to get a photo before they left (on the bike!) for school!

 Bennett was in a photo mood, but Logan wasn't really.  That's ok - it was a great day for them at school!

Eden - 1 week old!

What can we say??  

She is perfect.

S'mores in March!

John decided it was a good night for a fire and s'mores.  The boys were elated, of course!  So, they biked to the grocery nearby and picked up some marshmallows...

Eden's 1 Week Check-up

The boys got to play with our friend, Katie, while John and I took Eden to her one week check up.  She's just 6 days old, but since she lost so much weight in the hospital (a full 8%), they wanted to see her back right away to make sure she's gaining enough.

Well, lo and behold, this little (big) lady gained a whopping 5 ounces over the weekend!  Phew!  At discharge, she was 9lbs 8 oz and this morning she weighed in a 9 lbs 13 oz.  I guess we can dismiss any worry about her gaining weight!  No problems there!

 Eden is in the 90th percentile for both weight (9 lbs 13 oz) and height (22 in).

She checked out great and we had a couple questions answered, so we're all set!

First little outing...
