Jan-Feb 2014

Here is a dump of some phone pics from January and Feb (and maybe a couple early March photos sprinkled in too!)
Lots of inside time with the Polar Vortex this winter.  Seriously...no more winters like this please.  We are going crazy!  Eden and both of the boys love to paint!

This is a framer!!

On what seemed like the zillionth snow/cold day this year, we had an indoor beach day picnic with a movie kind of lunch.  Because what else do you do??

Just being cute.

In January our friend Emma starting coming to hang out with us on Mondays and Tuesdays...just until May while her mom works!!

Eden sleeping...she's so adorable.

Two kiddos sleeping in the car.

Cleaning up is something everyone is getting into lately!

Lady loves her pancakes.

Logan was so happy to help feed Emma a bottle.  My kids are like, "What's that bottle thing for??"  Haha!

Eden showing some sass.  I told her to keep her bowl in the kitchen and then I found this.  And she was so defensive...I didn't even have to say anything to provoke these looks!  Whoa...look out world.  Eden is almost TWO!

Playing in the water and doing some dishes (and making a giant water mess) requires a swim shirt, no?

Birthday pigtails!

Napping with mom in mom's big bed!

Things you never think you will write on a chalkboard...and then you are the mom of BOYS!

Ready for spring!

Early morning snuggles.

Eating at "Jill's Restaurant" - another goofy snow day creation by us!

Bennett building with Lincoln Logs!!

Last XC Ski

It was the last ski for the season.  John accompanied Logan to his lessons again this year, usually getting in a good ski of his own.  Hoping to all be out on the trails in some form next year!

Random February Stories

February has been a crazy month.  Tons of days off school for snow and cold.  John's crazy busy school schedule.  Watching our friend Emma two days a week (mon/tues).  To top it off, I have been WAITING all fall for a trip I planned to SURPRISE Amy in Norfolk for her birthday.  Everything worked out perfectly until an unprecedented winter storm hit the south and I couldn't get out there, no matter how hard I tried.  My trip was sadly cancelled.  Andrew and I had done all the planning and we were so good at keeping the secret - she had no idea!  But, when I couldn't make it out there, Andrew told her.  We cried about it on the phone, but I was able to reschedule my trip for March instead.  Its no longer a surprise, but it will be just as fun!

Bathtime buddies!  Logan usually takes a shower these days, but B and E tend to prefer baths!

A little lounge time with Dad.  He is way overly busy with most waking moments either being at work or at the University library where he reads, listens to lectures, and writes papers.  We are PRAYING for his appeal for an extension to go through so he can graduate in September rather than next January (please lord!).

A little Mommy and Me time.

Valentine's Day!  I was really a dud this year for Valentine's Day.  I was supposed to be on my way to Amy's on Feb 14th, so I had not planned to have any celebration at home.  But, at the last minute, I gathered together a few things for a special morning for the kids.

Bennett's Valentine box was all set!  It was awesome!!

Benny at school for his Love Party

After school we headed out to Nana and Papa's house.  The kids had planned to be there all weekend while I was away in VA, and I knew they would be disappointed if they didn't get to go.  Plus, John had tons of school work to get through.  So we went and I just spent with weekend with my parents.  Nana pulled through with some fun gifts for the kiddos for Valentine's Day so they were excited!

Enjoying some Olympics!

Snacks with Nana

Since the last one was a hit and it was nasty outside, my Mom and I put together a mini-Olympics for the kids with lots of activities to complete!

Yeehaw!  This may have been Eden's favorite event.  :)

Painting

Eden is quite the little painter.  Look how she even holds her paintbrush!!

The kids made Olympic rings and medals!!  Gold of course!

We also went to a couple play places for the kids to run around.  Eden slept through one whole visit and was pretty tentative at another.  But she still had fun I think.  The boys loved it and they sure stick together.

Bath time in the big tub is always a huge hit!

Here is Eden hanging out on my bed while I got ready at Nana's one morning.  Amazing to think that one of the next times we come stay - Papa will be retired!!

Another February happening was Logan's Winter Festival at school.  Last year, he had a cute program, this year it was more of a carnival at school.  We went for just a short time with Papa and Nana who came to take us to dinner and then visit Logan's school.  It was pretty chaotic, but as you can see, Logan loved having them!

This is what our mornings look like!

Post nap popcorn.  Because she asked. And she is so darn cute.

Just us three hanging out!!!

Puzzle night!!  This has become a tradition: building puzzles after dinner.  Eden LOVES to do puzzles (not easy ones - HARD ones!!).

Bennett has the BEST imagination.  He creates stories and great scenarios all day long!

And Eden got to run after some balls at tennis, so she was thrilled!!!

What a month...
