Logan is 6!

Somehow this baby we had in 2007 has become a SIX YEAR OLD!  The cliche: time really flies - but its true!  We have packed so much into six years with Logan and we are blessed everyday to be his parents.  Good days, hard days, fun days, boring days, happy days, sad days...we've had them all.  And to think we have a lifetime of being his parents ahead - I can only imagine what's in store.
Of course Logan woke up so excited for today!!  Its a BIG day for a BIG kid!

We planned a fun baseball birthday for Logan with some friends, knowing that baseball is currently his favorite pastime.  The neighborhood school has a great playground, ball fields, and even a little pavilion so we invited some families to join us for picnics, baseball, and cupcakes.

With lots of little ones, we had some other outdoor games to keep us busy, too!

What's a ballgame without a little popcorn???

It was a perfect day for the park!!

Eden and Reese got to hang out and enjoy the bubbles!

John was all-time pitcher and some other parents joined the kids out on the field, too.

Reese and Eden just kept dashing for the playground...can you blame them?!

7th inning stretch for playtime and popcorn...

Then back to the game, of course!

Big hit by the birthday boy.

Eden was a little obsessed with carrying her popcorn bag all around the playground.

Picnic time!  The kids worked up an appetite so lunch was pretty quiet!

Cross-eyed cupcake eating baby.  ????!!!!
Thanks to all our friends for joining us for a day on the field to celebrate Logan!

Well that was only the first part of the day!!  Phew!  Logan requested a "Star Wars" birthday, so I thought it was a great chance to throw him a party with the grandparents.
Only a little (itty bitty) down time between parties...

I love that the boys are so excited for each other's special days.  Bennett was genuinely set on making sure Logan's day was great and special.  Its fun for everyone!

Logan must have grown a foot this year...he is such a big kid!

"Cheese!"

First "Star Wars" book!!

And a new, bigger baseball glove from Nana and Papa...

to go with his baseball trainer (or whatever you call those net thingies).

Keeping with the sports theme: new skates from Baggie and Bopbop!!

And hockey gloves, too.

Oh, and a stick...because you can't be without that on the ice!

Nana put together some goodie bags for the kids and Eden was excited about her airplane from "Planes"...

she has to keep up with the boys!!

Setting up the net...

How many guys does it take...???

I tried to make it festive for Logan's "Star Wars" theme, but I have to be honest: I don't know much about the story or the characters.

Playtime outside before dinner.  We call this the "baby slide"...she often prefers the big slide on the playlet to this "baby slide"!

Up the ladder on her own (of course!)...

she is brave!!

Stopping only for some calls...or texts.

Happy birthday to Logan!

Six candles to blow out??  Not a problem!!

Eden felt that she should model all her new clothes from Baggie...so she is pretty layered up here (in August!).  And of course she took to the new lightsabers.

Thanks to our parents and all our family who sent love, wishes, gifts, and messages to Logan for his birthday.  Happy birthday to Logan...the most sincere six year old I will ever know.  We love you buddy.  We will ALL sleep good tonight!  What a day!
