Benny's Tagalong Adventure!

This year, its Benny's turn on the tagalong!!  He was so excited for his turn and waited for John to get home from work so he could jump on for the first time.  It was a perfect day for a bike ride!

'Round and 'round the block!!

Bennett sometimes forgot to pedal...

but he was having a ball!!

Looking pretty confident.  :)

Eden enjoyed running up and down the driveway and cheering Bennett on!!

Way to go Benny!

Summer days really are the best!

Summer T-ball

Logan's first season of t-ball was just perfect!  It was just 1-2 game a week with a little 30 minute practice time before games.  He loved it so much and baseball quickly became his favorite pastime of the summer!  He did great, met new friends, and just had a fun time on the field.

He always was quick to remind us that he was "#7, like Joe Mauer!"

Benny and Eden always kept busy at the fields, too!!

On this rainy evening, Papa even came to cheer Logan on!  How special!!  Way to go #7!

10th Anniversary

We got to spend our 10th Anniversary (10 years...really?!) on Lake Minnetonka in John's uncle's cottage.  The cottage was a part of the property when they bought the land to build their beautiful lake home.  They kept the cottage (at the City of Excelsior's request) and renovated it.  Its a beautiful little escape.  We had a relaxing weekend of sleeping in, walking everywhere in Excelsior (no strollers or baby carriers!), eating out (long dinners without cutting up kids' food!), and having UNinterrupted conversation!!
The cottage was a part of the property that John's uncle purchased when they built their beautiful lake home.  The city required them to keep one of the 7+ cottages for historical purposes.  Its a true gem now - after lots of restoration!

Perfect little cottage in a perfect location.

The cottage has been restored to its original time period and is so quaint.  We loved all the details and appreciated all the work that went into creating what it is today.

We didn't spend much time in the cottage: we walked all over the little city of Excelsior to flea markets, shops, cafes, parks, and the beach.

Some quiet reading on the beach before dinner.

Steve took us out on a 5 hour boat tour one day - we toured the entire lake and even stopped for dinner at Lord Fletcher's on the Lake.  It was so wonderful.

This turned out to be the perfect little get away for our anniversary celebration.  Many thanks to Steve for his generous hospitality!

Celebrating Grandpa Wayne

We gathered with family on July 14 to remember John's Grandpa Wayne in Blue Earth Minnesota.  The day came more quickly than expected, but Wayne had a lot of peace and a great life of 87 years.  The sunshine through the rain is that we got to see lots of family - especially Scott and Jess (who now live in South Carolina) and Jenny from North Carolina (her husband Mike stayed back in NC).  We got to celebrate Wayne's life and some time together.
At the funeral home, the cousins all loved playing with our kids.  Of course, our kids LOVED it...we love those big cousins to play with!!  The boys drew pictures for everyone, and Eden used the furniture as a jungle-gym.

After the service on Sunday, we drove back to Stillwater to enjoy a day at the pool before everyone had to go home.  It was the perfect day for a swim!

The kids were just a LITTLE excited to see everyone and to swim!!!

The boys wasted no time getting Uncle Scott into a game of backyard baseball.

Benny really loves his Uncle Scott.

So much fun!

We wish the circumstances had been different, but we LOVED seeing everyone and spending great time together!  Love you, Eiselt Fam!
