Hobby Farm

We got to visit some friends' hobby farm on Thursday evening.  They have the most beautiful land.  We've been trying to visit them all summer long and finally got the chance.  We were sure to get out to the farm in plenty of time to show the boys the animals and take a walk around the farm.  The just moved from Ohio about six months ago and never lived anywhere but the city.  They had planned to live in a condo, but fell in love with this farm... Suddenly they have chickens, horses, ponies...the works!  How interesting!

Logan loved running in the grass by the pasture.

In the hayloft, they have this tractor and some bales for climbing.

Lily and Rupert, the ponies.

The boys both loved Gus, the dog.

It really is the most picturesque little farm - I just adore the farmhouse.

It was a beautiful cool night - perfect for enjoying the outdoors.  Until the mosquitoes came out...then we went inside for dessert!

Thanks Sam and Jerrianne!

Cute Curls

Bennett has the cutest curls.  Will they last?  I always hear about kids growing out of their curly hair.  Logan's hair is growing out right now and I'm starting to see those waves again.  His hair is very course and heavy.  Bennett's is much more fine and wispy.  I just love the curls!  Today they are worth a photo!

Birthday Bash

My family threw a birthday bash at my parents' house tonight to celebrate the August birthdays!

My dad: August 12
Logan: August 17
Me: August 22

That's a bunch-o-birthdays!  It was really a fun night to celebrate and see my brother and sister and their spouses.  Of course, the presents and cake were a huge hit...we were spoiled, that is for sure!

Logan and Bennett are both enamored with balloons!

You can see Bennett coming in the background...he's practically running these days!

Logan and Nana

Silly family photo!

Treat bags for the boys.  After Amy (my little sis) complained enough, my mom made her a special bag, too!  Haha!

Logan saying hi to Kyle!

Now that Logan is so close to THREE, he sure does love presents.  My goodness...

"My tractor is this big!"

Modeling his new Twins hat from Kyle and Ali.  Phew...just in time!  He has completely outgrown his other Twins hat.

The boys sharing their creations with Papa for his birthday.

Play-doh from Amy and Andrew!

And a wheelbarrow from Papa and Nana.

My mom and sister made these amazing Mater cakes for Logan!  They were really cool - as you can see, Logan was a HUGE fan!

Tow-Mater cakes!

And a special cake from the new Mara-Mi bakery in Stillwater for the "oldies".

Logan loving his birthday...

My dad and I (with Bennett...who is eating the frosting!).  We couldn't have candles - it would have been a fire hazard!

And a wheel-barrow ride to end the night.

Thanks for the great party!  It was so fun to celebrate with everyone!

Potty Present

Logan is officially a big kid now!  He started the potty thing about a month ago and its been a pretty smooth transition from diapers to underware.  We're really proud of him!  I didn't dare mention anything too early on the blog...but its sure nice to spare myself the "size 5s" in the diaper aisle lately!  Hooray!

Logan got a pretty cool train for his "potty present" and he sure is excited about it!  Way to go buddy!

Logan's Debut

Saturday was John's cousin, Kristine's, wedding.  We traveled to Rochester, MN for the weekend to celebrate and participate!  We have never spent much time in Rochester, but we were surprised at how beautiful the landscape is in the area.  We stayed in a historic district and loved driving around looking at the beautiful hills, colonial homes, and interesting neighborhoods.  We also found an amazing park just a few blocks from the hotel, so we spent time there on Saturday before the wedding.

John and Logan doing the "obstacle course".

Bennett can keep up!

This was the neatest play structure I've ever seen!

Bennett's favorite thing was trying to crawl through the tunnels.

We tried to put the boys on here together for a little photo, but it didn't go over well.

Logan riding the tires...Bennett crawling through - of course.

Bennett liked riding the little pony...

and playing in the giant sandbox.  The boys both needed showers after this afternoon at the park!

Bennett just relaxing in the hotel - what a goofball!

After we got all cleaned up, we headed to the wedding.  It was a nice evening at the Plummer House Botanical gardens, but it was really humid.  We were all melting!  Somehow, Logan didn't mind his ring bearer outfit.  He loved it!

What a handsome little boy!

I didn't get many photos at the wedding because I had my hands full with Bennett and making sure Logan was set for his duties.

Logan and Baggie before the ceremony.

Logan walked down the aisle with the flower girl...

And stood up front, right by John.  John was the ceremony officiant and did an amazing job.  Kristine and Andy have a unique story and an inspiring love.  John captured all of it in his message and brought us all to tears.  It was a really beautiful ceremony.  I was so proud of my boys!

Big hugs after the ceremony.

Bennett was adorable, too!

After Logan's ring bearer duties were complete, we let him run around and climb on the trees...what fun!

Congratulations, Andy and Kristine!  Thanks for making us a part of your special day!
