Foot In Mouth

This all started when I told John that I really wanted to get a photo of Bennett with his feet in his mouth.  Bennett is really enamored with his feet and toes - he can entertain himself for a pretty long time just with his own feet!  As soon as Logan saw me lay Bennett down for a photo, he had to ham it up by "one-upping" Bennett with the foot in the mouth trick!

We were all laughing so hard Logan could hardly even lay still enough to aim his foot!  He's still pretty flexible, getting the foot in the mouth without any difficulty!

Of course, I couldn't really get Bennett to do the trick...probably because he was wondering what was going on with his crazy family!

Then Benny got some encouragement from his big brother...

and sure enough, it worked!

All stretched out!  Just shy of 5 months, Bennett is super long and lean!

THE Wedding!

Since I am slow at posting blog entries these days (even with my snazzy new computer!), you can see some photos from Amy and Andrew's wedding if you click here.  It was the most beautiful, fun, and sacred day!  Congrats!

Pumpkins!

Last weekend, we bundled up and went out to Lowe's Creek Tree Farm to buy our pumpkins.  We got four big pumpkins this year - Logan insisted on having one for Baby Benny.  We always love going out to the tree farm, click here to see our trip out last year!

Logan had fun telling us which ones he liked the best. "How 'bout this one, mama?  Big one!"

Logan's pumpkin!

I love this photo - the tree farm is so pretty and the chalet is just so picturesque!

We filled a small bag with gourds for inside the house.  Logan thought they were pretty funny looking!

Happy Fall!  :)

Apple Orchard

Today we took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent time at the apple orchard (or "apple farm", as Logan called it).  Way back in September, I kept thinking, "We should really go to the orchards before it gets too cold."  Well, wouldn't you know, after a summery September, October hit and it was freezing!  I thought for sure we had missed our chance to enjoy the orchards this year, but thankfully the weather has turned a little more mild in the last week.  There are a zillion orchards around us, so we had a hard time choosing where to go, but ended up at Eau Claire Orchards.  They have lots of fun for the kids, a great general store, and even an apple slingshot (which I am convinced is for the Dads, not the kids!).

John and Logan got to take a ride in the little tractor wagons around part of the orchard.   We opted out of the big wagon ride that takes you out to pick your own apples because it was a little too cold for Bennett.  Instead, Logan enjoyed the little wagon ride and the other attractions around the farm.  We just picked up a 1/2 peck of fresh picked honeycrisp apples from the store.  Yum!

I think Logan could have stayed on the train all day long!

Eiselts on the bus!  Logan insisted that we ALL get on the bus.  He sure does love school busses - I hope that excitement hangs on for a few more years when he gets to ride one!

There is a huge sandbox that Logan enjoyed!  Filled with tons of trucks, he was in heaven!  Thankfully it was warm enough to play without mittens on!

Even after Logan woke up from his nap today, he said, "I wanna play in the sandbox more."  So, I know he's already missing summertime with all the outside playtime.

Bennett and I sat on a bench and watched Logan and Daddy play in the sand.  Bennett was so cute!  All bundled up and snuggly.  I just love all the baby cold weather clothes, like this old hat and coat of Logans!  I think Bennett really liked the outdoors and all the fresh air - he was soooo good!

Here it is!  The apple slingshot!  Logan didn't want a turn, but he enjoyed watching John try to hit the targets.

Logan was walking around with the little car from the sandbox you can see in the photo.  He wouldn't put it down (until we offered him a hot dog from the cafe for lunch!).  So funny!  We ran into our friends George, Steph, and their son Oscar at the orchard, so we had fun hanging out with them.  Here you can see George and Oscar watching the slingshot - they had their turn before John and Logan!

Our family photo!

Logan insisted on holding the bag of apples all the way back to the car.  Once he was buckled in, he took an apple off the top of the bag and dug in...we couldn't believe he was just back there chomping on his apple!

"MMmmmmmm, so yummy!  I love apples!"

We're back!

Well, I thought that after our long break from blogging while we transferred photos, etc from our old computer to our new computer our blog deserved a new look.  I think I need to look for a header photo where the boys are not looking so serious!  For now, this will do!  Take a minute to see the two new posts below and enjoy!

First Snow!

We woke up to snowflakes falling today!  WHAT?!  We're not ready!  For most of the day, we stayed in, but Logan got a chance to enjoy the flakes for a little bit and it was fun to watch him explore the snow!

This year, Logan will be able to experience the snow much more than last year.

You can tell he is curious and a little nervous about going in...

Logan thought it was so cool how his tracks stayed in the snow!

Shoes wet...had enough.

We almost had a panic because Logan's shoes were covered in snow, but I taught him how to stomp the snow off and then that became a very fun game!

I think we're in for lots of fun outside this winter!  I am hoping for some good snowman-making snow this year!  Hopefully Bennett will like to bundle up, too!

Bennett is 4 months!

4 months?!

Amazingly, Bennett is 4 months today!  I really don't know where the time has gone.  At his 4 month check up today Dr. Gilmartin gave us the "ok" to start rice cereal...WHAT?!  I feel like that came so quickly.  I feel a little guilty, like his life is going by so quick that I am missing things while I am busy keeping track of Logan.  But, I quickly remind myself that Bennett's life is rich with the love and excitement that comes with having an older brother.  Bennett's hair rubbed off on the sides mostly, which left him with an interesting 'do.  Logan had a similar haircut at his age!  Bennett's stats: 15 lbs and 26.75 inches!  Another BIG boy in this family!

Here's Bennett doing some tummy time on his ladybug thing...he sure loves this!

Spending some special evening time with Daddy...

Smirky.  Bennett has some dry skin on his forehead that is more pronounced in this photo.  The colder weather has irritated his baby skin a bit, but Dr. Gilmartin said a little cream should do the trick.  Still can't get over those blue eyes!

And some special sleepy time with Mommy after a long day.  I had John take this photo because I couldn't believe B fell asleep in my arms like this.  Its becoming more rare for him to fall sleep like this...he's getting soooo old!  :)

Bachelor/Bachelorette

The celebration continues!  This weekend we traveled to Brainerd to a friends' lake home (emphasis on the word "home") to celebrate for Amy and Andrew!  We held a Bachelor/Bachelorette weekend and had a great time!  Bennett got to come along for the ride while Logan stayed home with Papa and Nana.  The girls had a fun luncheon and shower for Amy while the guys went out for lunch, to watch a game, and to golf 9 holes.  Then we all gathered together for dinner and games!  It was really fun and Bennett was superbaby: sleeping from 6:30 pm until morning.  We had a great time!  Let the celebrating continue!

The bride!  Amy has been a super organized bride.  Her wedding planning has been so smooth...we're all to excited for the big day.

Bennett got to hang out with the ladies for the bridal shower.  Here he is judging the toilet paper wedding dress competition (classic bridal shower game, right?).

John and I enjoyed the time at the cabin together before he left for a week of business in Texas.
