Where has June gone?

Can it be that June is already over? I don't know where the first part of summer has gone, but I know last week was a great end to the month of June!

Well, John left for camp with a group of kids from Memorial High School in Eau Claire last Sunday. So, Logan and I left for a visit to Stillwater on Monday. Even with only one night at home alone, I didn't sleep well and had to leave the lights on (monsters under the bed?!). Good thing we live so close to family!

We spent the week at my parents house, enjoying being spoiled. For Logan that means endless attention, gifts, and love...for me that means getting to sleep in and have free hands for most of the day!

King of the house...that is for sure!

Logan is so comfortable with standing and cruising. Nana did some good babyproofing before we came over! That proved to be very important as Logan was into everything!

Super spoiled...feet on the counter?!

It was rare to find Logan at my parents house without something under his hands, scooting along the floors as he crawled. Not sure what this habit is, but we find that dvd cases and books are very popular because they slide easily!

We had special visitors: Cousin Jody, Aunt Shirley and Jody's twin girls, Violet and Olivia! They came from Minot, ND for a visit and it was great! We love spending time together and I just love seeing Jody's girls grow. They are exactly one year older than Logan, so they always remind me what I have to look forward to! They are running and talking and so much more! Jody and I even got to have a fun day of shopping out on our own without the babies. I think the grandmas enjoyed it, too!

On Wednesday morning, we all went to Teddy Bear Park downtown Stillwater for playtime and Kindermusik. The weather was hot all week, so we had to get the outdoor playtime in early in the morning before it was too hot for the babies. After the park, we went to Starbucks and did some shopping downtown.

Shirley and Olivia enjoyed the Kindermusik while Violet and Jody played on the playground.

Sleepy boy Logan napped and missed the whole thing!

Logan loved watching the girls run around. I think he's jealous that he couldn't quite keep up. He always wanted to be near the girls and "share" what they were playing with. I think it was really good for him to be so close with the girls and they were so good to him!

Logan even got to steal a snuggle from Jody!

Despite the difference of one year in age, the kids are all about the same size!

Logan and I made time to visit our good friends, the Neirs, in Minneapolis. They recently moved into a new house, just a few blocks from their previous home where John and I spent many weeks house/dog/babysitting for them when we worked at Minnehaha Academy. The house is absolutely gorgeous and they are all doing well! Olivia is off to London for a study program this summer, so it was nice to see her again before she goes international.

Patti got some toys out for Logan...he loved this farm set - totally vintage! And, Logan also loved the Neir's puppy (our all time favorite dog!), Lovey. She is so sweet. Logan was very comfortable petting Lovey by the time our visit ended.

Other highlights of our week away included seeing Grandpa and Grandma Eiselt, lunch with girlfriends (and no babies!) at the new Salut on Grand Avenue, a pedicure at my favorite salon, a wedding shower for Danielle Sneden, shopping for Logan with my mom, and seeing Uncle Kyle's new house in Woodbury!

We sure were busy, but loved every minute of it! Special thanks to all!

Sounds like a wonderful week Jill! We sure wish we could have been there ~ still a little jealous, it sounded like so much fun! I know what you mean by having your hands free and being able to relax ~ my family is so great with Oliver and I never feel guilty, I know they love every minute they have with him. Have a wonderful month at camp ~ your parents are going to miss Logan like crazy. Talk to you soon, Angie
