Cozy Cabin

We got to spend Friday night and Saturday morning at our friends' cabin.  Their family owns a beautiful lake home and we caravanned with a total of three families on Friday night, ready for a get-a-way!  Each family has two kids, ages 4 years - 6 months, so it was a ton of fun!

The cabin is used by Jon and Holly's family year 'round, probably at least once a month, so its well-stocked with toys, dishes, snacks, kiddo beds, and even diapers!  :)  Logan latched onto this cool fire truck right away on Friday night.  This kids got to have a little play time to get some energy out after the car ride, but then it was off to bed so the adults could play games!

Saturday morning, Greta and Brynna were mermaids with goggles.  :)  So cute!  I love watching these girls play together!

Logan's little buddy: Carter.  He's a total cutie!

This is the living room, looking down from the balcony on the second floor.  As you can see, there was no shortage of fun!

The kids loved climbing the stairs, "chasing" each other, then looking down at the dads in the living room.

The train table was a huge hit...it was the coolest one I've ever seen!  Logan definitely could have played ALL DAY!

Bennett was there, too!  He is by far the baby of the group.  He was just his happy little content self...playing and making everyone want more babies in their own families (well, maybe not everyone!). He's such a sweetie!

After a super yummy breakfast of pumpkin pancakes, eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns; we all headed outdoors to enjoy the beautiful new snow.

Logan was so excited to wear all his gear!

Bennett and I made it out, too!

Little kids all bundled up are just so cute!

Logan was surprisingly agile for being so bundled up!

King of the mountain!

Daddy and Logan: best buds

Logan loved sledding!  He even partnered up with Carter for lots of rides!  It was so cute to see them sledding together!  Love it!  I think these two are going to be good buddies!

Loving the snow and this supercool sled!

B fell asleep while we were outside...he was just so snuggled!

We had such a good time with Jon & Holly and Scott & Leah...what fun to get away for a day and enjoy good friends.  Thanks for a great time...John and I promised to brush up on our gaming skills for next time!

Playing Ball

I don't know what it is, but boys are so into playing BALL!  Its like a totally natural instinct or something.  Bennett already loves to watch Logan kick and throw the ball and often grabs for is.  When my mom was over on Thursday, she propped Bennett upright (still working on the sitting up skill) and gave him his own ball.  He was mesmerized and looked at it like it was a gem!

Logan was no doubt yelling instructions to Bennett by this point: "Throw it, Benny!  Grab it, Benny!"

Many Talents

I looked away for one minute when we were playing tonight and this is what I found:

Bennett somehow un-did his diaper and rolled over.  Goof ball.  Doesn't he look like he got caught?!  Somehow I think I have another crazy man on my hands!

Bennett's Big Week of "Firsts"

Before Thanksgiving, Bennett had a big week full of "firsts"!  He had his first cereal, his first time in the highchair, and his first time in the jumperoo.  It was a week packed with fun as we watched him explore each new experience.  As a 5 month old, Bennett has perfected his hand-eye coordination, gotten 4 teeth total (two top, two bottom), started sitting up for short amounts of time, rolling over (back to front, front to back), and grown into quite a little boy!  Its been busy around here!  Sorry these are getting posted so late, but enjoy!

"See, Benny, just like this!"  Logan kept saying, "Don't feed him!"  We're not sure why...

"I'm #1!"

Bennett just couldn't get enough...he LOVES rice cereal!

So much fun!

Bennett just seems so old to me when he sits in the high chair.  I can't believe my baby is this big!

Logan has more fun than Bennett exploring all the toys that are coming back out of storage.  Bennett has the "advantage" of his older brother showing him how everything works!  B just loves the jumperoo and is content to bounce and play for longer than Logan ever would.

I'm not sure Logan being under Bennett is the recommended use of this toy, but oh well.

Thanksgiving 2009

For Thanksgiving we traveled to Blue Earth, Minnesota to spend time with John's extended family.  It was a long trip in the car, but as usual, our kids were superstar travelers!  We really enjoyed our time with family that we don't get to see too often.  John's grandparents, Wayne and Marianna live in Blue Earth; Jeff and Mary (from Rochester) and their children; and even Tom and Julie (from North Carolina!) and their children were all there.  The most fun for me was watching Logan play with the cousins - he loved it!

Joe and Kate (from NC) were so attentive and playful with both Logan and Bennett.  Logan just LOVED having these big kids around to play with!

Bennett with his favorite person of the weekend: Baggie!

Deb had the super special touch for our teething boy.  She was always able to calm him and get him to sleep.  It was special time for her and Bennett.

Logan loved having so many people to entertain him!  Building blocks with Bopbop!

Logan and John sat next to Grandma and Grandpa Eiselt for Thanksgiving dinner.  We had 19 people for the meal (including Bennett)!  It was a BIG table!

My other favorite of the weekend was the boys having so much time with John.  This fall has been a serious gauntlet of events and it was wonderful for him to have a few days off to spend with the kids.

Logan got to have a bath at Grandma and Grandpa's house before heading back to the hotel on Thanksgiving evening.

This was the best attempt at getting a photo of the four generations of Eiselt men...

Thanks to all of the Eiselts' for hospitality and fun and for loving our kiddos so much!  We had a wonderful time!
