Labor Day
What a great day we had today! We got to wake up all together, enjoy Daddy's yummy breakfast and coffee while playing together upstairs - what a way to start the last unofficial day of summer! The boys were in their color coordinated pjs from my friend Jayni...so cute!
Logan was being supersilly, as usual!
Once we finally got out of our pjs, we went outside to enjoy the beautiful day! Logan and I worked on a couple projects and played with water while Daddy washed the car and Bennett watched. Bennett had such a great time with all the toys we gave him - he was totally entertained and loving the nice weather!
Logan even got to help Daddy with his new lawn mower from his parents - brand new out of the box! Logan now calls his toy lawn mower "the new mower" because we kept talking about "Daddy's new lawn mower". I really can't get over how much boys are wired to love things like lawn mowers so much. I guess if I had girls, it would be shoes, right?
Logan even got to have a picnic in the garage while we continued to work outside. He loves getting to eat outside at his little table. We'll be sad when all the outdoor toys "hibernate" for the winter...but let's not talk about that yet!
We topped off a wonderful day with a gathering of friends! We went to Logan's friends', Brynna and Carter's house for dinner and playtime. I think this photo is funny because somehow John and Carter's dad, Scott, are stuck with a few extra kiddos! We had a blast letting all the kids (I think there were over 16 kids there!) run around and play together.

Bumbo
We thought it was about time to get out the Bumbo seat and let Bennett give it a try! He's so good at holding his head up that I thought it would be great. He did pretty well, but we could tell once his neck got tired he had a hard time to keep from leaning back. Bennett really liked sitting up and being a part of the action!
Lounging in his chair
"Look at me, Dad!"
A little help from Daddy holding his head up.
"This is fun!"
3 Months Today!
Our baby is three months today! I might shed a little tear because I feel like he's growing up so fast and the time is passing so quickly with both our boys. We are blessed to have such beautiful, healthy kids!
This is Bennett's favorite new place to hang out! He likes to grab this little blue bird and look in the mirror.

How Old?
How old is Bennett? I can't keep track! I think Bennett is about 13 weeks right now (soon to be 3 months!). He is sooooo cute! Bennett is a great little baby and is starting to be awake much more now. He loves to look at faces and bright colors and hold onto things. The fun really is just beginning! Bennett is superstrong and holds his head up really well. He is always moving - mostly his legs kicking non-stop!
Poor little B has the same problem as his older brother: his legs are too long and his feet are too big for most sleepers. I've resorted to either wearing sleepers that are way too big (6-9 months) or wearing just sleepers with no feet that require socks.
I think Bennett is so yummy in this cute sleeper. Don't you just wanna eat him up?!
Logan wanted to get in the pictures, too! Doesn't Logan look like such a big boy laying next to Bennett? He's always the proud big brother.

Special Day
Today was such a special day! I traveled to my friend Kim's house in River Falls to spend the day with her and her new baby girl, Avery. Our good friend Sarah drove from Minneapolis to meet us and spend the day with us, too. It was so special to have the whole day together. It seems that over the last several years its been hard to find enough time to catch up and really talk about life and all that's going on. Today was the best chance we've had to do that in a long time. The only kids around were sweet little baby Avery (and I do mean little: she's only about 8 lbs at 6 weeks old!) and Mr. Bennett (who decided last week he doesn't like a bottle anymore and has not left my side since!). Sarah's kids were able to be at their daycare while she took the day out of the office. Here's a photo of us from Sarah's blog last winter after he daughter, Grace was born and we were all together (along with our friend, Carrie, who is doing her medical residency in MI with her husband - Happy Anniversary, you two!).
We enjoyed coffee (thanks Sarah): talking about old times and old friends; lunch (yum!): talking about everything babies; and holding eachother's little ones. I hope we get more and more chances to spend time together like this as our kids grow up together. Kim, thanks for letting us come over and spend the day in your beautiful home. Love you both!

All Smiles
Bennett is always all smiles for Daddy...
look at that double chin! This baby is getting plenty to eat! :)
When John is home, he is usually very occupied with Logan's need while I tend to Bennett's needs. So, in the evening after Logan is asleep we try to take advantage of the time John and spend with Bennett before he falls asleep. It so different from the first child, when you are both focused on just that one baby together - our time now is more split between the two kids. But, our routine has gotten to be very comfortable for all of us and we're doing really well with both kids! Luckily, we've had all summer to get ready for the "busy season" of fall.
