Bennett's Mystery

Starting late summer, Bennett had some tummy problems.  He was so uncomfortable that I ended up in the ER with him one night at 4am after no sleep.  Some blood tests and some hydration and a lot of PBS later, we were sent home with no real answers.

The tests continued when Bennett started to limp and complained of his hips hurting.  He was tested for Lymes, had a GI ultrasound, several blood tests and this poor guy was a trooper.  He was so tired and fed up with testing when we finally got a positive test for STREP!  This was the second time he was tested and the rapid test had initially come back negative.  But, when they called us three days later, they said strep was the answer.  This was a long couple months of worry, testing, and on-and-off  aches, fevers, and pain for poor Bennett.  Now we know that he manifests some bacterial infections differently, so we will be on the lookout for that.

So thankful to have healthy kiddos.

The Start of School

We've had kinda a whirlwind start to the school year!  Fun and busy!  Bennett started 4K - a half day program for pre-Kindergarten.  So, he is at school every day from 8:30-11:15.  I took all the kids along for visit day at school and Eden of course brought her backpack ("pack-pack") along too!

We love our Montessori school!

Then we made a special stop for some treats to celebrate!

Back at home we played outside and enjoyed the last taste of summer.  Eden loves to dress like this - its always an interesting combo.  And I consider it a WIN if she has ANY clothes on at all!!  Here she is trying out the winter boots I bought and hid from here (apparently I didn't hide them well enough!).

My early riser loves eggs!  The boys loves (sugary) cereal or frozen waffles!  She misses the boys while they are at school in the morning, but she and I have a good routine, too.

Here they go...John drops them off together everyday and they go back to the playground together.

We all head to the bus stop to pick Logan up at 3:30.  This is Logan's first year riding the bus and he loves it!  It makes me a little nervous and the bus stop is down the block, but I think the extra independence is good for him.

And...on Sunday I decided to have a garage sale...so I had it FRIDAY!  It was crazy, but it was good I just pulled everything out and marked "everything for $1".  There was so much stuff, its embarrassing!  Baby boys, baby girls, toddler boys...So. Much. Stuff.  I was happy to see people excited about taking it home.

Bus stop!

We love afternoon trips to the library!  Nobody naps, so we have our afternoon to enjoy together out and about if we want.

One morning Eden and I ran some errands at Target and she got little Nutella snack at the check out.  I was busy loading, bagging, and paying so I didn't look at her until we arrived at the car.  I thought the cashier had given me some funny looks...maybe this is why?!?!?!

Once in a while, she will pass out for a nap...

First Day of School 2014

Its here!  The first day of school!  I can't believe it!  And: ALL THREE kids starting school is just crazy!  Yesterday was visit day at school so it was short for the boys, but a nice little lead-in to their classrooms.  Today is the real deal!  Logan is in E1 (1st-3rd grade classroom) and Bennett is in 4K (half day program for 4-5 year olds).  Eden started Camp Come & Play at Noah's Ark preschool, which is just a little two hour program each Wednesday.  Of course she is thrilled to start school like the bigs.

We had a lot of firsts today...and we are becoming a seasoned school family.  Bennett got picked up by some friends at the end of his day at 11:20 and they dropped him off just as I was arriving home with Eden from her first day playing, doing play dough, and painting.  Logan rode the bus home which is also a first!

We just walked a few houses down to the bus stop at 3:30 to meet Logan.

Logan and Bennett could ride the bus together in the morning but for now, we enjoy dropping them off.

Logan told me his day was great and I think he loved riding the bus the most!
Its going to be a great YEAR!!
