Sun and Water Fun

With weather like this, we've been enjoying the outdoors!  The boys LOVE water play the most!  I love that they are both old enough to enjoy playing in the water on hot days...its going to be a GREAT summer!

Uncle Scott!

Scott was here to spend some of the weekend with us after coming to golf in the YL golf tournament again this year.  We had a great time!  Its so nice of him to take time out of his life (and away from Jessica) to come support John at this event.  Logan had a blast with Uncle Scott!  He really loved having him around. Bennett, too - he was perfectly happy to be snuggled by Scott.  Thanks for a great visit and for making the special trip!  Bring Jessica next time!  :)

Playing baseball

Scott couldn't believe Logan didn't have a baseball glove yet...

So, he bought one for him.  Thanks, Scott!

YL Golf 2010

We couldn't have asked for a better day for the Young Life Golf Tournament!  It was sunny and 85 degrees...what a day to have off work to golf for the sake of teenagers in the Chippewa Valley!  Lots of golfers enjoyed the weather and the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club's immaculate course.  I went out in the morning with the boys, stayed for lunch, then went home for naps, and returned for dinner.  It was a blast and the kids loved it!

Logan in his cool golf attire for the day!

What a treat!  Bopbop and even Uncle Scott (all the way from North Carolina!) spent the day golfing!  We got to visit before lunch, eat lunch together, and see them after the tournament, too!

Logan and Uncle Scott.  We haven't seen Scott for a while, but its amazing that he makes the short trip and takes time off work to come support YL and golf.  He came last year and I was like so huge - Bennett was about to arrive at this time last year.

We got to see lots of friends!  Here is Logan on Ned's golf cart - Logan sure did love riding!

Before we left for naps, I had to get a couple photos of the boys...

And one of John with Logan, too!

After nice long naps, we came back and Logan got a putting lesson from Bopbop.

Bennett had a snack with Lisa on the green.

Logan helped John measure for The Ultimate Putt contest (prize: a scooter!).

Here are some of the golfers heading down to the green for The Ultimate Putt.  Bennett wants to go too!

The Ultimate Putt contest.

The boys had the best time crawling around in the grass - just being kids!  What a fun time with friends and supporters of YL!  Thanks to ALL!

Last Day of School

Last week was Logan's last day of preschool.  Camp Come & Play was such a great experience for Logan leading up to "real" preschool next year!  He had lots of fun and learned so much.  The teachers sent each child home with a poster like this showing photos of their activities throughout the semester.  So, there was no school for Logan today, but on a gorgeous day like this, it just meant more time to play outside before a big long nap!

The Children's Farm 4

We stayed overnight in Stillwater after the Family Day at the farm.  We got to visit the farm two days in a row!  Logan got to feed the calf his bottle.

Feeding animals.

We fed the sheep!

Logan raking some hay for the wheelbarrow.

Today we fed horses and...

put some hay in the pig pen, too!

Logan is getting good at pumping water all by himself.

Painting egg cartons.

Grinding corn for the baby chicks and feeding them!

Logan REALLY liked hanging out at the watercooler - it was a hot day!

Riding Gertie!

"Thank you, Gertie"

Our daily dig in the mud!

Our final activity of the day was a nature walk, smelling trees and flowers along the way.  We also collected treasures to put in Logan's egg carton art project: bark, sticks, helicopter seeds, leaves, pinecones, and feathers (what a great idea...even for at home!).  Another fun day on the farm.

The Children's Farm 3: Family Day!

Today we had the chance to visit The Children's Farm as a family!  The farm is open to family and guests one day for the season.  When a child is in class, the same adult (just one adult per child) is supposed to visit the farm for each class.  The consistency helps the children learn and keeps things moving along.  But, since today was "open farm", we got to bring Daddy, Benny, Papa and Nana!  And what a glorious day!

Logan ran the whole way down the path to the farm while the rest of us followed.  He has been looking forward to showing "the whole family" his farm school.  Its hard to describe, but Logan lights up when he is at the farm and it was so fun for the rest of the family to see...

Such a beautiful day on the farm!

Logan showing Papa the 8-day-old calf in the barn.

Midnight the horse and the little lambs.

Showing Daddy the hens.

Bennett had a blast in the backpack!  He loved being at the farm, too!

Chicken Coop!

"My Kitty"

Bennett got to pet the kitty, too!

Logan is really starting to love the kitties.  We've been watching them grow over the last three weeks.

Getting some water for the animals on a hot day.

Who's thirsty?!

Showing Daddy the gardens where we've planted potatoes and beans.  We also to lots of raking and digging in the garden!

On the playground.

We ended our day with a visit to the farm classroom where Logan played with the toy animals and saw the 10-day-old baby chicks who were keeping warm indoor.

At the end of each class, each child gets to ring the bell!

What a fun day at the farm!  I've been patiently waiting to show this unique place to John - its so hard to describe, but the reality didn't disappoint!  We are all amazed at Logan's love for the farm and his confidence about himself when he is there.  What a great experience!
