Dropout

I was so excited for this week because Logan and I started swimming lessons at the YMCA. However, Logan spiked a fever on Sunday night, didn't sleep well or eat well, and that led to a terrible lesson on Monday morning. Logan was overtired and overwhelmed. So, I figured it would just take a couple lessons to get used to all the noise, the big kids in the pool next to us, and the water.

But, on Tuesday morning, Logan woke up with a temp still too high and I just couldn't bring myself to put him through the lesson if he wasn't feeling well. Personally, if I didn't feel good, the last thing I would want to do is swim.

So, I've turned our nearly-10-month old baby into a dropout! Terrible lesson to teach, right?! We will definitely be signing up for more lessons as soon as we can. As you can see in the picture below, Logan is all ready for lessons on Monday morning, but sure doesn't look excited...poor guy.

Contained

These days, I sometimes feel like I would do anything to have Logan contained in one space for just a few minutes! I put him in the laundry basket today (he used to like riding in there up and down the stairs when we went for loads of laundry!) but it sure didn't last long - he just hopped right out! Crazy man!

Weekend Fun

We had a fun weekend, spending our time here in Eau Claire (two weekends in a row!). Logan is certainly enough entertainment to keep us rolling with laughter all weekend long! He's so much fun!

On Saturday, we were visited by our friends the Agrimson's from River Falls, WI and the Carey's from Minneapolis for lunch. We planned a barbecue and the weather ended up being beautiful for lunch. It was great to see everyone and spend time catching up. There is never quite enough time to chat - especially with the little boys to look after these days. It was a wonderful visit and we are grateful for their willingness to drive to Eau Claire to see us!

Pajama Day!

We've had our fair share of "pajama days" this week where we stay in our pj's until after Logan's morning nap, and sometimes even until after lunch! We've had lots of rain and not a whole lot going on this week, so we've taken advantage of that and cozied up inside most mornings this week. I don't stress over it and even relish in the laziness of it all, just enjoying the time I get to spend each day with my son! What a gift!

Who knew that books where actually so much more...I would consider them to be Logan's favorite toys. He plays with them for hours! Turning pages, feeling the textures, looking at the colors (also eating the pages, ripping them, bending the covers, etc, etc!).

Logan gets all the books out and I put them away several times a day. Fun game (sort of...).

Mirror, Mirror...

Logan is quite the explorer these days. He seems to get into everything...just when I think its all out of the way, he finds something new to examine! Yesterday we had a few bumps and bonks (I think its just the nature of his age, when he has to pull out all the drawers and open all the doors). This moment was one of the funniest...

Actually, I think he was enjoying the steam he could crate on the dishwasher door by blowing on it. He sure is learning, growing, and changing fast! Its so much fun!

Starbucks Storytime

Starbucks has started storytime on Wednesday mornings. My friend Shannon and I have been meeting with our boys for coffee, storytime, and a walk/playtime. Its been so fun because the boys are only one month apart (Iggy is exactly one month older than Logan) and Shannon and I have lots in common! Its also fun to visit Starbucks and see my co-workers...Logan gets special treatment!

Iggy was so lucky because Shannon brought his Radio Flyer car to the mall today. He got to ride in style! Shannon swears by this car because Iggy just loves it and spends lots of time being entertained by the steering wheel with a horn that works, the radio that plays music, and the blinkers that click and light up. So...Iggy was nice enough to share and give Logan a try! Of course, Logan loved it and even danced (his new and best talent as of late!) to the radio!

Logan is pretty interested in watching all the kids who can run around and climb. I know it won't be long until he joins in! He's a little apprehensive around big groups of kids since we are not usually in that setting. Now that we are getting out more, he's starting to adapt and make friends...its so cute!

Taste of Eau Claire

As I told John, "Today was my favorite day since we moved to Eau Claire (except for when Logan was born...those were the most special days!)". This weekend was the two-year mark for us living in EC. Its amazing that time can pass so quickly on one hand, but at the same time feel as though we left Minneapolis much longer ago than that. All in all, its been a good move for us!

We had such a great weekend of being together as a family - like normal people do on weekends! So often, we are busy running around, driving to a weekend event, or packing up for a family visit that we don't have a chance to enjoy Eau Claire, our house, and each other. This is why today was my favorite day ever!

This morning, we woke up and went to church where we saw some friends and got to catch up on life. Then we went downtown for the 2nd Annual Taste of Eau Claire at Phoenix Park (one of my favorite places in this city and home of the great Farmer's Market!). We had Logan in the jogger, the sun was out, and we were all together. We saw many friends and familiar faces, ate some yummy treats, and strolled the boardwalk along the river all afternoon. What more could one really ask for on a Sunday in June?

Yep...my favorite day ever. I always dream about days like this where I just get to "be" and spend time with my lovely little family. What a blessing!
